Oversized T-shirt: how to choose the right size
Partilhar
The oversized t-shirt is here to stay. But it's also the piece that raises the most questions when buying: "Do I choose my usual size or one size up?" Let’s break it down.
What is an oversized t-shirt?
It is a t-shirt purposefully designed to be baggy: dropped shoulders, a wider body, and often, longer sleeves. It is not just a regular t-shirt in a larger size — the cut is different. At Sheepfy, the oversized ones also use a heavier cotton (up to 220 gsm) than the basics (140–175 gsm), which provides a more structured drape.
Which size to choose?
- "Serious" oversized look: choose your usual size. The piece has already been designed to be loose-fitting.
- Loose but more contained fit: choose one size down from your usual size.
- Even baggier: choose one size up — but watch out for the length.
How to measure
- Take a t-shirt you own that you like the fit of.
- Lay it flat on a surface and measure the width from armpit to armpit and the length from the shoulder to the hem.
- Compare it with the size chart on each product page.

How to style
- With baggy or cargo trousers: the streetwear classic.
- With cycling shorts or leggings: very popular among girls.
- Tucked in at the front: gives shape to the silhouette without losing comfort.
